MLA’s Innovative Education Initiative breaks down the walls of the traditional classroom to bring valuable resources, people and experiences directly to students at MLA schools.
7 to 7
Description: 

An elongated school day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. is offered at MLA schools. With the support of over 35 organizations managed in an integrated network, the school becomes a community hub for resources and opportunities. MLA’s 7 to 7 Initiative invites students and families to participate in meaningful activities through an extended, engaging and holistic school day.
Teachers and Leaders
Description: 

Building the capacity of its workforce is a primary objective of MLA’s approach to sustaining real reform and efficiency at schools. MLA works to expand career pathways for teachers and support the full potential of school leaders. MLA’s Teachers and Leaders Initiative provides the resources and support necessary for public school educators to become entrepreneurial, strategic and visionary thinkers.
Health and Wellness
Description: 

Mental, physical and emotional well being is the focus of a large scale initiative to ensure students are well nourished, active, and supported. MLA believes that an effective education means paying attention to the full spectrum of a child’s development. MLA’s Health and Wellness Initiative empowers students to evaluate their current habits and make informed choices through a holistic approach.
College and Career
Description: 

A college preparatory education for every neighborhood child is the fundamental mission of MLA Partner Schools. Through an enormous network of leading colleges, businesses and other partners, MLA schools provide every student access to life-changing opportunities. MLA’s College & Career Initiative provides students the motivation and support necessary to attend college and pursue a promising career.
